Prajiturica economica / The economic cake

Cea mai simpla reteta de prajitura pe care o cunosc. Prima oara am gustat in copilarie cand o colega de serviciu de-a mamei mele ne-a servit cu aceasta prajitura. Cu siguranta oricine o poate face, chiar si un barbat mai stangaci hotarat sa-si surprinda iubita sau prietenii. O sa ii zic simplu, prajitura economica.

Avem nevoie de:

900 gr biscuiti populari

1,5 l lapte

3 plicuri de budinca ( daca doriti de culori si arome diferite)

cateva fructe la alegere

250 ml frisca lichida

Procedeul este cat se poate de usor. Asezati biscuitii in tava de copt unul langa altul. Pregatiti prima budinca conform instructiunilor de pe plic. Odata ce au iesit aburii din budinca fierbite o turnati peste stratul de biscuiti din tava si o intindeti uniform.

Asezati peste ea un alt strat de biscuiti si puneti la foc a doua budinca. Repetati procedeul de mai devreme si puneti a doua budinca peste biscuiti dupa care asezati al treilea strat de biscuiti.

In sfarsit puneti a treia budinca pe foc. O turnati apoi peste al treilea strat de biscuiti din tava si peste ea un ultim strat de biscuiti. Daca mai este calda crema o lasati 30 min la racit la temperatura camerei si o bagati apoi la rece la frigider.

Se poate servi dupa 5 ore. Nu e nevoie de sirop pt ca biscuitii se vor inmuia de la crema si de la temperatura joasa din frigider.

Inainte se servire decorati-o cu frisca batuta si fructe.

The easiest cake recipe that I know. The first time I tasted this cake in childhood when a colleague of-my mother served us with this cake. Absolutely anyone can make it, even the clumsiest man decided to surprise his girlfriend or his friends. I will call it simple, the economic cake.
We need:
900gr of the simplest biscuits
1.5 l milk
3 puddings (if you want they can be of different colors and flavors)
some fruit of your choice
250 ml liquid cream
The process is quite easy. Place the biscuits on baking tray one next to the other. Prepare the first pudding as per the instructions from the back of the package. Once the boiled pudding is out of the steams pour the pudding over the layer of biscuits in the tray and spread it evenly.
Place another layer over biscuits over the pudding and start preparing the second pudding. Repeat the process of earlier and put your second pudding over the third layer of biscuits.
Finally start preparing the third pudding. When ready pour it over the third layer of crackers and over it a last layer of biscuits. If it’s still warm because of the cream, leave it for 30 minutes to cool at the room temperature and then put it in the refrigerator to cool even better.

It can be served after 5 hours. No need for any syrup as the biscuits will soften due to the cream and the low temperature in the refrigerator.
Before serving decorate it with whipped cream and fruit.

Buna ziua, m-am intors! / Hello, I’m back!

Dragilor, nici nu pot exprima in cuvinte ce dor mi-a fost de voi! Si cei care ma cititi si ma stiti personal dar si de voi, straini hoinarind pe internet si care intr-un moment sau altul s-au lovit de cateva cuvinte scrise de mine. Am avut nevoie de o pauza dar nu am planificat sa fie chiar asa de lunga. Faptul ca unii dintre voi mi-ati scris intrebandu-ma daca sunt bine mi-a umplut inima de fericire, ca cineva se gandeste la mine. Pot doar sa va spun ca sunt bine si usor usor ma intorc in blogosfera sa impartasesc cu voi putin din mine cum o fac de vreo 2 ani.

Iata ce s-a mai petrecut in aceasta lunga pauza. In luna mai cand am pus ultimul articol am aflat si cea mai frumoasa veste din viata mea. Pentru prima data in viata mea am aflat ca voi fi mamica. Bucuria si avalansa de sentimente poate fi inteleasa doar de cei care sunt la randul lor parinti. Atat eu cat si sotul meu dar si parintii nostri si prietenii apropiati suntem toti foarte fericiti. Vom avea un baietel, un copil pe care ni l-am dorit mult si de care vorbim cu drag de mai bine de 4 ani.

Bebe a fost cu noi si la alt eveniment important, la nunta noastra. A fost bebe cuminte si a ascultat de mami nu a provocat greturi si neplaceri fizice, a stat cuminte in burtica pt ca noi sa ne bucuram de fiecare clipa.

Mi-am promis ca imi voi face singura tortul de nunta si asa am facut. Am muncit cateva ore bune la el. A fost cu 3 etaje.

Fiecare etaj a avut blat de vanilie si crema Chantilly dar si blat de bezea cu nuca si mousse de ciocolata cu visine. Un deliciu. Am dovezi ca l-am facut eu cu mana mea, ajutata si de sot.

Din cauza presiunii timpului decorul nu a fost unul fantastic, clar se putea mai bine, dar m-am scos la gust pt ca a primit aprecieri de la toata lumea si mai mult de atat nu imi puteam dori.

Intre timp a trecut toata vara si toamna. Noi suntem bine, bebe este bine. Il asteptam sa se nasca in ianuarie anul viitor, asta daca nu e mai grabit si poate vine chiar cu Mos Craciun.

Cam atat despre pauza asta lunga. Zilele ce vor urma o sa pun si cateva retete facute de mine in acesta vara si toamna.

Va imbratisez cu drag si ma bucur enorm sa fiu iar printre voi, ceva mai activa.

My dears, I cannot express in words how much I missed you! I missed you all those who read me and know me personally but I also missed those wandering strangers on the internet that at some moment or another have been introduced with something written by me. I needed a break but I didn’t planned to be quite so long. The fact that some of you have written to me asking me if I am well filled my heart with joy, someone thinks of me. I can only tell you that I am good and I plan to get back in the blogosphere to share with you a little part of me as I have been doing for almost 2 years.

Here’s what has happened in this long break. In May, when I posted the last article I found out the most beautiful news of my life. For the first time in my life I will become a mommy. The joy and the avalanche of feelings can be understood only by those of you who are themselves parents. Both myself and my husband but also our parents and our close friends are all very happy. We are going to have a baby boy, a child we wished for and of whom we’ve been talking for over 4 years.
The baby was with us at other important event in our lives which took place in June, our wedding. He was quiet and listened to Mommy and did not cause me nausea and physical discomfort, he stood still in my womb for us to enjoy every moment.

I promised myself that I would bake my wedding cake and so I did. I worked a few hours but it worth it. It had 3 tiers. Each tier had a vanilla sponge with Chantilly cream, meringue crust with walnuts and chocolate mousse with cherries; a true delight. I have the proof that I did it myself with my husband’s help of course. Due to the time pressure it didn’t had fantastic decorating details, clearly it could have been better, but the taste was awesome so that I received congrats from all of those who ate it and that was more than that I could have asked for.

Meanwhile, during this summer and fall we’ve been good; the baby is fine, growing. We are waiting for him to be born sometime in January next year that is if he won’t rush and comes with Santa.
So much about my long break. The days to come I will post some recipes I made this summer and fall.
I hug you all with love and I am so happy to be back among you, I hope more active.

Tort din fondant cu Minnie Mouse / Minnie Mouse fondant cake

Pentru cei mici, personajele din desenele animate sunt mai mult decat niste simple maimutoaie care trec printr-o sumedenie de aventuri. Pentru ei, sunt niste adevarati eroi sau modele de urmat. Cei care au copii prin preajma cu siguranta stiu la ce ma refer. Aceeasi poveste se intampla si cu nepoteii mei si de cele mai multe ori raman surprinsa cat de mult conteaza pt ei aceste figuri. In copilarie aveam si eu preferatii  mei din desene animate, Tom si Jerry, care trebuie sa recunoastem, sunt nemuritori. Din seria nemuritorii desenelor animate, vi-o prezint pe Minnie Mouse azi. In urma cu ceva timp finuta unei colege de munca a implinit venerabila varsta de 2 anisori. Un moment cu totul memorabil pt parinti dar mai ales pt cea mica. Preferata ei este Minnie, si un tort cu doamna soricioaica ar fi completat perfect cadoul pt micuta Sara.

Asadar, cu toate ca aparatul foto mi-a facut figura chiar in ziua cand pregateam tortul, am reusit sa imortalizez si pt voi tortul pt Sara. A fost cu blat simplu si aroma de vanilie, si minunata crema Chantilly, pe care am folosit-o de nenumarate ori in vara aceasta.

For children, cartoon characters are more than just simple mimic characters that are going through a lot of adventures. For them, they are some real heroes or role models. Those who have children around have definitely an idea and really know what I mean. The same story happens with my nephews, and often we are surprised how much these figures matter to them. In my childhood I had my favorite cartoon characters too, Tom and Jerry, you must recognize them, they are truly immortal. From the same series, I introduce you today Minnie Mouse. A while ago, the goddaughter of one of my coworkers turned the venerable age of 2 years old. This was a memorable moment for her parents but especially for the little one. Her favorite cartoon character is Minnie, and a cake with the precious mouse lady would have perfectly completed a gift for little Sara.

So, although my camera went to strike the very same day I was preparing the cake, I managed to capture for you the cake I made for Sara. It was made of a simple vanilla flavor sponge and the wonderful Chantilly cream,  which I used so many times this summer.

I hope you enjoy it as much as little Sara did! 🙂

Tort ciocolatos cu masina din fondant / Chocoholic cake with fondant cake topper

Inca din copilarie, ciocolata a fost preferata mea in materie de dulciuri. Imi aduc aminte de fiecare data cand luam sau primeam o ciocolata o imparteam cu parintii, bunicii sau cine mai era cu mine si era o mare placer sa savurez fiecare bucatica. Numai un om caruia ii place ciocolata asa de mult poate sa ma inteleaga. Recent iubitul unei college si-a sarbatorit onomastica si a vrut un tort cu ciocolata si cacao, fara nimic altceva, doar multa ciocolata. Asa ca am facut un tort ciocolatos la care sunt cu gandul si acum.

Am folosit mousse de ciocolata pt crema si blat de cacao.

Ei bine aici am avut ceva de munca si dezsi am imprumutat marca BMW ce-a iesit e ceva unic, un model nescos pe piata inca, de nici un producator auto. :))

Since childhood, chocolate was my favorite in terms of sweets. I remember every time I bought a chocolate or received one, I used to share it with my parents, grandparents or whoever was with me at that time and it was a great pleasure to savor each piece. Only those who like chocolate so much can understand me. Recently one of my colleague’s boyfriend celebrated his name day and wanted a cake with chocolate and cocoa, with nothing else, just a lot of chocolate. So I made him a chocolate cake that is still in my mind now.
I used the chocolate mousse for the filling and a cocoa sponge.
The birthday boy desired a special decoration, a remote control car. Well here I had a real challenge and even if I borrowed the BMW trademark this unique market model is not yet produced by any car company. :))

Tort cu urs in fustita si trandafiri / Tutu panda bear with roses cake

La noi la romani sarbatoarea Sfintei Marii se tine negresit in fiecare an. Atat pe 15 august, la adormire cat sip e 8 septembrie la nasterea Fecioarei. Multe persoane poarta numele sfant si printre ele si 2 colege de munca. Si-au dorit un tort facut de mine asa ca n-am ezitat si am zis da provocarii. Una din ele si-a dorit cu orice pret un ursulet cu fusta pe tort si am stat si m-am gandit ce alta combinative de ornament sa fac astfel incat sa existe o potrivire cu aceasta dorinta nastrusnica si cu ceea ce se potrivea caracterului celeilalte colege. Desi pasta de zahar mi-a facut feste, am reusit intr-un final sa fac si ursuletul si 3 trandafirasi. Sunt mai reusiti decat primul meu trandafir insa stiu ca mereu e loc de mai bine, mereu e bines a evoluam sis a devenim mai buni in ceea ce facem.

Las vorbaria la o parte si va prezint tortul cu urs panda (in fustita) si trandafiri.

Here in Romania the St. Mary feast and celebrations are held every year. Both on August 15th and on September 8th we pray and celebrate Virgin Mary as much and as sincerely as we can. Many people are called by Her and this is reason for parties with family and friends. This was the case of colleagues from work. They wanted a cake made ​​by me so I didn’t hesitate and said yes to the challenge. One of them wanted by all means a teddy bear in tutu to sit on the cake and I had to think to what different combination of ornament I could make​so that there is a match with what the other colleague wanted on this shared cake. Although my sugar paste gave me some hard times, I finally managed to do the bear and 3 roses. This time my roses looked better than the first rose I made out of fondant but I know there is always room for improvement; it’s always a good thing to evolve to become better in everything you do.
I leave the twaddle aside and I introduce to you the tutu panda bear and roses cake
It was filled with Chantilly cream and the sponge had almonds flavor.

Tort de botez pt Andi / Baby shower cake for Andy

Venirea pe lume a unui copilas a fost pt vecinii nostri cel mai frumos eveniment din viata lor pana in acest moment. Inca de cand i-am cunoscut ne intrebau curiosi daca noi avem copii caci ei abia asteapta sa devina parinti. A trecut ceva timp de atunci si iata ca in aceasta primavera barza a lasat un pui mic si frumos la ei acasa, pe Andi Eduard. Bucuria a fost intr-adevar de nedescris in familie insa petrecerea cea mai importanta avea sa vina luna aceasta, botezul micutului. Cu ceva emotii le-am propus tinerilor parinti sa ii facem si noi un cadou deosebit tanarului membru cu un tort pe masura la petrecere. Au fost de accord imediat desi nu stiau ce torture pt sa fac si acest accept m-a onorat profund. Cu o zi inainte de petrecere am dormit doar 4 ore si am muncit pana la epuizare pt a face ceva frumos pt Andi. Tin sa mentionez ca singurele figurine modelate de mine din fondant pana la acest tort au fost cativa trandafiri, ursuleti si botosei. Fiind in panica si in criza de timp figurinele de pe tort mi-au iesit de la prima incercare insa numai eu stiu cati sfinti am ridicat la cer si cate rugi fierbinti pt a reusi sa fac ceva deosebit. Si iata rezultatul.

Blatul a fost simplu, cu aroma de vanilie.

The birth of a baby for our neighbors was the most beautiful event in their lives until now. Ever since we met then we were asked if we have children because they cannot wait to become parents. Some time has passed since then and this spring the stork left a beautiful little baby boy at their home, Andy Edward. The joy was indescribable for this young family but the most important party was to come this month, the baby baptism, the baby shower party. With great emotion I dared to ask these young parents to make them a special gift for the young member, a cake at the party. They have agreed immediately though they did not know what cakes I can bake and so this confirmation deeply honored me. The day before the party I slept only 4 hours and worked up to exhaustion in order to make a special cake for Andy. I can only say that I modeled fondant figurines for training my dexterity, a few roses, some teddy bears and baby bootees. Being short of time I kind of panicked and making the figurines on the cake was a challenge which I passed successfully as they came out great after the first attempt. But only I know how many saints I raised towards the sky and how many prayers to be able to finish this job. And here’s the result.
The sponge was simple with vanilla flavor.
The Chantilly cream was the filling, with fruits to give the cake more freshness.
Tigger was the favorite pet for Andy’s cousin who at his five years he heroically resisted till late in the evening and never separated from the figurine he took from the cake. The reward for my job was unimaginable.

Tort pt nasi / Cake for the godparents

Exista un moment in viata fiecarui om cand ia o decizie foarte importanta. La mine si sotul meu a fost un timp scurt, invers proportional cu importanta deciziei. In 3 saptamani eram casatoriti fara sa visam macar ca s-ar putea intampla. Desi imprejurarile ne-au condus catre o schimbare radicala a statutului social, de la iubiti la sot si sotie, decizia a fost luata cu cea mai mare siguranta si sinceritate. A fost ca si cand ai in fata ta ceea ce ti-ai dorit dintotdeauna dar n-ai avut curajul sa il iei si era atunci ori niciodata, si asa ne-am casatorit. In cea mai friguroasa zi a lunii februarie in 2012, intr-o iarna cu cele mai joase temperaturi inregistrate pt acea luna, si cu zapada de 1 metru, am zis da in fata primarului si am semnat actele.

Nunta religioasa trebuia si ea sa vina, ca procesul sa fie complet. Asa ca intr-o buna zi am zis: la anu’ facem nunta! Hotarat! Si sotul meu n-a obiectat… Ma asteptam la o “lupta” serioasa macar de data aceasta insa totul a venit natural, ca la casatoria civila. Si uite asa am pornit in cautare de nasi. Aici decizia a fost foarte greu de luat insa si de aceasta data intelepciunea feminina intruchipata de mine a avut ultimul cuvant si iata-ne porniti pe un drum frumos si furtunos. La romani e traditie sa mergi la nasi oficial, cu un cadou si sa le ceri sa iti fie parinti spirituali. Nasii nostri sunt mai tineri ca noi dar casatoriti sunt de 5 ani, cam de cand dateaza si relatia noastra si am zis sa alegem si cu inima si cu mintea. Noi zicem ca alegerea e una buna si iata-ma in fata dumneavostra, cititori dragi cu tortul dus nasilor la prima noastra intalnire in calitate de fini si nasi nu doar de prieteni.

There is a moment in everyone’s life when a very important decision has to be taken. Me and my husband had a very short time, inversely proportional to the importance of the decision, when the moment came to get married. In three weeks we were married without even dreaming that it might happen. Although circumstances have led us to a radical change in the social status, from lovers to husband and wife, the decision was made with the highest level of emotional safety and honesty. It was as if you had  in your face something you’ve always wanted but never had the courage to take it and it was then or never, so we got married. In the coldest day of February 2012, in a month with the lowest temperatures registered for that time, with the snow 3 feet high, we signed the papers in front of the mayor.

The religious ceremony had to come as well, so the process would be complete. So one day I said to my husband “next year we’ll have the big party wedding!” It’s decided! And my husband didn’t object … I was expecting a “fight” this time but it all came naturally as the civil marriage. And so I started looking for the godparents. This decision was very difficult to take but this time the “ultimate feminine wisdom” embodied by myself had the last word, again, and here we start our lives on a nice road but pretty bumpy, getting ready for the big day.

The wedding in Romania is a long chain of traditions and events and so we needed to make an official visit to our future godparents bringing a gift and “asking” them to be your spiritual parents. They are younger than us but they are married for 5 years, about the same time we started dating officially and so we said to choose with the heart and mind as well so we chose them. So here I am in front of you , my dears with the cake I baked for my godparents for our first official meeting in the new roles, not just as friends.
Coincidence or not, this time the cake came out perfect, just as I wanted and I am very proud of my achievement.

I made it put of vanilla sponge, mango cream mousse and my first fondant flowers attempts.
