liebster-award1

Here I come before you today with the desire to share a blog award that I received recently. I was very impressed by this surprise and I’m glad the rules of this award ask me to give it away to others. Choosing the nominees was totally accidental and random from all those who take some time on reading what I write and maybe to try what I cook. Love, kisses and hugs, don’t forget to give away this lovely award!

From where I received it:

http://fallenforfood.wordpress.com/

Proiect 10.000 / the 10.000 Project

Citez:

“ 1. Asociatia Muzeul Ianca din Ianca (Braila) – De-a lungul timpului, asociatia a adunat peste 1000 de exponate si a infiintat Muzeul Ianca, acreditat si de minister. De curand, membrii asociatiei au inceput sa faca in incinta muzeului cursuri pentru copiii din familii cu situatii financiare scazute pentru a-i ajuta sa tina pasul la scoala cu ceilalti. Au dotat o sala cu calculatoare, au amenajat-o si fac cursuri de utilizare a calculatorului cu peste 150 de copii. Ii ajuta sa-si mai faca temele si sa fie la acelasi nivel cu cei care au calculator acasa. Ii duc in excursii si la Braila, mai ales ca multi dintre ei nu au iesit din comunitate. Pe termen lung, se gandesc sa faca un after-school pentru copii, ateliere de tesut si alte activitati ca sa atraga copiii din comunitate;

Banii se vor duce in contul Fundatiei PACT (nu aleasa intamplator, ci cu grija) care se va ocupa apoi de impartirea in trei a sumei + realizarea de proiecte;

 Contul de donatii este RO12BPOS70606197144RON10, deschis la Bancpost SA- Sucursala Universitate (Fundatia PACT);

FOARTE IMPORTANT: pentru a putea urmari exact ce sume se strang, va rugam frumos de tot, foarte frumos, sa specificati, cand faceti donatia/tranzactia, “Proiect 10.000“; daca doriti sa ramaneti anonimi, va rugam frumos sa specificati “Proiect 10.000 Anonim” (fiecare “anonim” va primi apoi un indicativ cand va fi publicat pe site, ca sa stie fiecare om ca banii lui sunt bagati in seama si considerati);

Campania se desfasoara pana pe 15 decembrie 2013, pentru a fi timp apoi ca o parte din banii ostransi sa mearga si pentru bucuriile imediate de Sarbatori pentru cei mici;

 Project “ 10,000″- a social project initiated by culinary bloggers in Romania

I am a simple person with simple needs and demands of common sense. I did not set out to become a great blogger or an entity in the culinary world, I just wanted to bring a smile on people’s faces, to give a tip and to share with real people, with real joys and real problems bits of my life, of my soul.
If I succeeded or not, you are the one who can say that.
In short, I just found out that some people as real as I am, want to help some children … giving them a piece of the little they have. It seems like a small miracle, and out of respect for their gesture I want help where I can. It’s about donating money. No matter the amount. Any amount, how small, is counted as a grand gesture to those who need it. I understand that beneficiaries are the following. Quote:

1. “Museum Association of Ianca” from Ianca village in Braila  county – Over time , the association has gathered more than 1,000 exhibits and the museum founded  in Inaca was accredited by the Ministry of Culture. Recently, the association members began keeping courses for children, in the museum, children from families with low financial statements to help them keep up in school and develop their talents. Now they have an IT room, and they have arranged Computer courses with over 150 children. This helps them doing their homework and be on the same line with those kids who have a computer at home. The association carries on trips in Braila city, especially since many of these children have never got out in the community. In the long run, is going to make an after-school  for the kids, weaving workshops and other activities to attract children in the community and to help them make a better future;

2. “Together for the Future” Association from Spantov  village in Calarasi county – consists out of three young girls who were able to mobilize many people in the community , especially young people ( have about 40 volunteers who are involved in all activities of the association ) and gain their trust . The first project that they did was building a playground as there was no place where children and young people to meet and to spend leisure time. Money that were gathered so far have not come to cover all the activities and plans they had, so then they organized a fundraising event – a football championship – and have managed to gather what they lacked. They made courses to engage young people in community with long-term activities. Now they also founded the Alternative Education Club, which runs until the end of November. Usually in the holidays season they run fundraising campaigns (money or items ) for poor families in the village.

3. Solidarity and Hope Foundation from Iasi city in Iasi county – which takes care of two day centers (Centre Casa Mia in Barnova villageand Sf.Marina Center ) who take care of children coming from poor families, broken families or other children having problems . Here they receive a hot meal (after school ) , they get help with homework and they have activities that help them to integrate into society.

The fund raising money will go into the PACT Foundation account (chosen very carefully ) that will handle then dividing of the sum for the three projects ;

The Account for donations is RO12BPOS70606197144RON10 , opened at Bancpost Bank the University Office( PACT ) ;

You can donate directly from the card ( RON, EUR , USD ) here at  the bottom of the page you will find the form of direct payment by card (do not forget to add “Project 10,000 ” next to the name ) .
Now , very important to be able to track exactly how much money are donated, please specify , when you make the donation / transaction , “Project 10,000 ” if you wish to remain anonymous , please specify “Project 10,000 Anonymous ” (each “anonymous ” will then receive an indication code which will be published on the site, so every man will know that his money is channeled into the right account and very much appreciated) ;
The bloggers that initiated this project want to conclude the fundraising campaign until December 15 2013, to give immediate joys for these children in the holiday season;
You can support the campaign with  banners on your websites and culinary blogs.

Fierbeti fasolea in apa mai multa.

Pofta mare!

English version:

I know that summer is winding down and we are all focusing to catch the last warm days before the cold weather comes. However many vegetables are still on the rise and worth to give them all the attention we have available. Such veggies would be the green beans and zucchinis. A while ago I shared with you my zucchinis chips recipe that goes well with a garlic sauce. Today I want to share another recipe where I combined the green beans, with the zucchinis and garlic, or whatever other veggies you want to put on your plate.

We would need:

  • 1 kg of green beans
  • the zucchinis chips, as per my recipe
  • 3, 4 cloves of garlic
  • And some tomatoes

The process is very simple. Boil the beans in plenty of water. After boiling, remove them from the bowl it and let the water drain well. Put 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add the beans. It’s kind of Romanian style stir fry, only that we have already boiled the vegetable. Leave it for 3 minutes and let it rest. Meanwhile take the peeled garlic, crushed it and rub it with 1 Tbs of oil and a pinch of salt until it forms a paste. Finally add the garlic paste over the beans and the salad is ready. I served it with the zucchinis chips and some tomatoes.

Enjoy!

Episodul III – tomata a absolvit // Episode III – tomato graduates

Am inceput in primavara un mic proiect dedicate unei legume foarte indragite.

I started a small project this spring dedicated to a very popular vegetable. After a fairly long break I am back with the penultimate episode of the series Adventures of Mrs. Tomato. Continuing the comparison with the life of a man I can now tell you that our dear plant is mature. It was guided and supported day by day like a man is guided by parents, relatives and teachers and graduated the school of life ready now for the ultimate exam.

As we leave our kids to this world, wishing they are better than we were and so our tomato did the same giving us her own baby, the tomato, so we can enjoy them. Next post will open a number of posts with recipes for summer, a Veggies Festival, and of course the first recipes will include this wonderful fruit but it will also be a proof of respect for all of those who had taken care of all these tomatoes for us to enjoy them now.

In compensation for my long absence here are some pictures from my parent’s garden, a Romanian version of “Alice in Wonderland” a garden full of small wonders of nature. From each of these veggies it will follow a recipe on my blog.

Desert din paste / Pasta for dessert

pdesert1

Intre timp luam cu seriozitate masina de macinat nuci si trecem la treaba, in fond putina transpiratie in bucatarie ne da mai multe satisfactii (dupa dus) cand servim mancarea.

pdesert2

pdesert3

Pofta mare si post usor!

English version:

When I was a child every Easter and Christmas was a milestone each year. I sincerely confess that now is about the same. An old Romanian’s saying tells us that you remember to do something from Easter to Christmas, as in rarely. These two major celebrations throughout the year are times of reflection in a one’s life. Without thinking much you stop a bit from the alert pace and reflect on the period that passed since the last major celebration and think with emotion to the upcoming time before the next holidays. I, for one, am a simple person I say, and I do so. I plan journeys in my mind towards new destinations and I fill my inner batteries by emptying my mind of worries and my soul from fears. Stronger people or those enough determined and keep the advent, abstaining from physical and spiritual abuse and clean their mind and body preparing for their next adventure lighter.
For them, in reverence, I post today the easiest dessert I’ve ever done.
The ingredients are:

  • Pasta of any kind
  • some sugar
  • ground nuts
  • fruits

The process is quite simple. Boil the pasta and cool them under running cold water. Meanwhile take the nut grinder and get to work, in fact a little sweat in the kitchen gives us more satisfaction (after the shower) when serving the food. Once the pasta is cooked and cooled, mix it with the nuts, some sugar for your taste and some diced or slice fruits and ready it is your dessert.

Enjoy!

piu1

Cand am pisat toti cartofii adaugam peste ei laptele, uleiul si condimentele. Amestecam bine din exterior spre interior.

piu2

Pofta mare!

English version:

I was browsing the blog pages few weeks ago and I was given to see an article posted by a nice person who was admitting, with some bitterness, that she can’t cook mashed potatoes. Initially I said it must be a joke but it was true. I then thought, and tried to explain to myself, how can you not cook puree, meaning mashed potatoes? In a poor country like Romania where most cooked dishes contain potatoes for many housewives cooking mashed potatoes is a boring routine that goes unnoticed. However there are some who are just starting out in the kitchen and with the risk of falling into banality I said it would not be a bad idea to post my recipe for mashed potatoes.
Therefore, we need:

  • 700 gr potatoes
  • 50 ml of milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper, or some Vegeta.

I present you now the quick recipe for mashed today. Peel off the potatoes and dice them into small cubes. Put them to boiling well covered with water and leave high the heat for them to boil well and quickly. Try the potatoes with a fork; if they break easily then they are boiled. When still warm take them out and mash them with a fork. When all potatoes are mashed add the milk, oil and spices. Stir well from the outside to inside of the bowl. The result is a true taste potato dish, with potato pieces wandering on your plate and a smooth texture given by the milk.

You can serve it as presented or as a garnish, like I did, with my fried meatballs. Enjoy!

  • 400 gr pasta fusili
  • 300 gr prosciuto
  • 200 ml smantana lichida pt gatit
  • 150 gr unt
  • Condimente si un mic secret

pasta prosciut1

English version:

When it comes to pasta I couldn’t say that I wake up vivid memories of grandma or any other memory from that period. I first met them in the form of spaghetti with cheese and eggs, baked in the oven, a recipe which I will soon share with you. I found this recipe on the packaging of a product by chance and I thought it was worth trying. For it is a very easy recipe to do I wanted to take a chance and cook it.
We need:

  • 400 gr pasta fusilli
  • 300 gr prosciutto
  • 200 ml heavy cream for cooking
  • 150 g butter
  • Spices and a little secret

We start by boiling the pasta. Meanwhile we put the butter to melted in a pan and cut in strips the prosciutto. Then add the prosciutto over the butter and leave it to brown slightly. Then add the cream and let them there for about 2 minutes. When ready the friendship of these ingredients to have a perfect taste we add the spices, salt, pepper, rosemary and my secret little: garlic!
Put cooked pasta in bowl and cool it under running cold water. Drain the pasta and add over them the earlier prepared sauce. Enjoy!
